Enlisted 16 June 1915 at Keswick, SA. The Unit embarked from Adelaide, SA, on board HMAT A70 Ballarat on 14 September 1915

To France, evacuated to England due to illness, returned to Unit 2 July 1917.

Killed in action 25 April 1918 at Villers-Bretonneux, France. Buried near where he fell.

Each day brings the realities of war nearer to us, as one by one our brave boys make the supreme sacrifice. The news of the death of Pte. Robert Geisler, who was killed in action on the 25th April, met with universal regret, and much sympathy is felt for the parents. A memorial service was held on Sunday afternoon in the St. John’s Church, and conducted by the Rev. F. W. Wilkinson, who also held a memorial service in Springton on Sunday morning for the late Pte. Allen Forrest.
